Final concert of the conductor classes of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
"Orchestral Concert - Diploma Examination Conductor Training" is available once a year, always at the end of the season, in the infamous Viennese Musikverein. Then, in the Golden Hall, the prospective maestri of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna will take the helm of the ORF RSO Vienna and the audience, in which also a board of examiners will take a seat. But what does "prospective" mean here! It is important for the candidates to demonstrate what they have learned during the academic years and to prove that they are in the right place here, as masters of their subject, of conducting. Many former candidates have started their international career from the conductor's stand in the Musikverein so to speak - for example Kirill Petrenko or Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
